Good Afternoon,
I wanted to express my gratitude to the entire staff and
perms and anyone else that attended the July 4th weekend 2011 at Hillside Campground
in Gibson, Pennsylvania.
I, along with my lover, was filled with trepidation all last
week. We were unsure of the atmosphere and goings on in the camp. Would we fit
in? Would we be uncomfortable? Was this a wrong idea? We had made a plan in
case we needed to escape. We were hoping for the best, and preparing for the
worst.
How thrilled were we when we discovered no worse. And
believe me we looked. The atmosphere was filled with such comradely and levity
that we were taken for a loop. From the moment we checked in, where we met our
neighbor and new friend David, we felt accepted and comfortable.
The check in process was a breeze and seconds later the gate
was opened. Instantly we saw members
and began to be waved at by all. Our arms were tired from all the salutations
throughout the weekend. Early in the morning people say hello, in the darkness
of night, people say hello and then some. Friendly, friendly, friendly.
The show was awesome, filled with guys who enjoyed what they
did and had no diva-ness about them. The benefit number brought tears to my
eyes. Partly because of the care you all have for each other and partly because
of Billy and the respect and love for him.
The Debutante Ball was the best part of the weekend for me.
No cares, no worries, and pudding shots. The bonfires were romantic for my man
and I and kept us nice and toasty on the first chilly night. The staff
everywhere was hospitable and eager to serve. Haha. Clean bathrooms, hot
showers, and great campsites were highly impressive.
The Potluck and Bingo were a hoot and a great way to round
out the weekend. We did not want to leave.
We will be returning Labor Day weekend for more fun.
Thanks so much for your hospitality. You have two huge fans.
We'll return again and again.
Best Regards
Alex A. & John C.
